Gabrielle Willis is smart. She's funny. And oh yes, she's a bit klutzy.
When Gabrielle left sunny California bound for the energy of Manhattan, she was willingly leaving the life she had known for the new life she would create. But was she really leaving something behind or was she running away?
On the outside, Gabrielle Willis has it all under control. A new life in Manhattan, a great roommate, and a good job. But she is haunted. Haunted by a memory she's tried to forget and by a family who's abandoned her. But what happens when what's on the outside is only an illusion and in perfect contradiction to what's buried deep within?
Enter Dane Rhodes. He's gorgeous, smart, and sexy as hell. Just what Gabby wants, or so she thinks. But when she meets Brad Dixon, the sweet guy with the crooked smile, he begins to make her see that the very thing she is trying to run from is the very thing that just may push her to see the light.
Becky S's 5 Star Review
I can't remember the last time that I read a book that I could not put down. This was one of those books. I started it at 11pm one night and stayed up til 4 am to finish it. It drew me in like no other. The best way to describe this books is it is like watching a great chick flick and it finishing and you just have to say AWWW.
"There's no time limit on grief. Breathe it, feel it, let it seep into you. When you're ready, and only when you're ready, you'll be able to let it go. And even then, it will stay with you, somewhere in a part of your soul."
Gabby Willis is living the life in New York City, or so she thinks. After a tragic life changing event, she moves to the Big Apple to start her life over and begin a career that she loves. One day she decides not to go to her normal Starbucks and try a new coffee house everyone has been talking about. While there, she meets Brad and strikes up a great friendship. Go to movies, hang out, talk.
While walking to work one day she spots My Hot Guy- the totally attractive man that is every girls fantasy come true. Only problem, she does not know his name. That is until a work function where she finds out that he is actually a client of her firm.
Now this is where is gets interesting. It is obvious to everyone but Gabby that Brad has a little crush on our girl. In the meantime, she is having fun with Mr Hot Guy- meaning she is tearing up the sheets with him. While this is going on, she is trying to make closure with the events of her past. In an attempt to not spoil anything for you- I am going to stop there and just say you will laugh, you will cry, and in the end you will be in LOVE with this book.
"Gabby, I told you I'd give you space, but I never said I wouldn't fill your space with flowers."
Beth Michelle had me from the get go with her writing. She has a way with words that just made me feel like I was feeling everything that Gabby was feeling. It makes you think about what it is that you think that you want, but in the long run is it what you need. That love can be right in front of your face, but you never even knew it until you took a big look at the whole picture.
